Dog Days of Summer
I’ve been running in circles
without any espoir
coagulando mi suerte
je ne sais pas trop pour quoi.
It was during a Sunday
-no había siquiera pan-
ma mère m’a dit:
« c’est l’heure, il faut se dire au revoir. »
Then, papi who was absent,
sat with us a llorar
lágrimas como perlas
que traigo en un collar.
C’était mi-août
Westinghouse running slowly
cansado de girar
sus aspas comme guilloche
incitando a la mar.
I was sure. We were dingue.
We were losing our minds
Dog days of summer:
“You know brother,
la yesca ya no da.”
Sacamos los bolsillos
Nobody tried to count.
Reímos el agujero.
Reímos hasta llorar.
J’encore garde le trou
-c’est ça que m’a laissé mon pa’,
and this ridiculous accent
that makes me nobody’s land.
It was the midst of the summer
tu m’avais dit au revoir
at the top of the stairs
and in front of the mar.
Yo te dije hasta luego.
No te vi nunca más.
Et ma mère s’en souvienne :
« Il avait une si belle voix. »
Mi padre juega a que lee
adivinando old pages
of our boring lives.
Es un taxidermista
qui perce dans son cadavre
pour trouver qui a fait de mal.
“Todo iba bien,
sin embargo,
maintenant, je ne comprends rien.
De pronto, no sé cómo,
all is wrong, all goes bad.”
Inútil el cerrojo
-no hay nada que guardar.
When he came back
It was late:
ma’ was anymore there by.
Hastiada del martirio
se cansó de esperar.
Yo no quiero decirlo
y tú lo sabes ya
más no por omitirlo
el tiempo corre atrás.
It was August
calma chicha,
las aspas de Guilloche
incitando a la mar.
C’est la faute à personne
-toute était presque bien-
mais la chaleur sofoca
dropping all your espoirs.
We were there almost happy
Y entonces,
ya no más.
